While not re-inventing the wheel, “Nothing’s About to Happen to Me” is yet another impressive addition to Mitski’s discography. Musically, the album feels like a culmination of all the different instrumental styles she’s used in her past works. Going from the effects of depression to the desire to not exist, album paints a beautifully tragic picture of the struggles of modern life.
