Coming on the back of a six-game losing streak the Auburn Tigers’ Women’s Basketball team came back looking for their first SEC win against the Alabama Crimson Tide. On a historic day for Auburn Women’s Basketball, with the hanging of a banner for the winningest coach in Auburn Women’s basketball history, Joe Champi, Auburn simply could not get it done falling, 75-68. This was due to a combination of Alabama’s Khyla Wade-Warren with 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and a lack of production in the second half, because of a “lot of kids playing a lot of minutes” according to Auburn Head coach Johnie Harris.

After extending their win streak to 14 against Georgia, the Auburn Tigers (18-1, 7-0 SEC) stayed at home in Auburn Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats (15-3, 5-2 SEC). The night before the game, people had begun living in tents in order to secure a seat for this blockbuster matchup, creating the nickname “Jungle City”. The inhabitants of Jungle City were treated to an Auburn win thanks to a first-pick caliber performance by Jabari Smith, and dominance from Walker Kessler with 17 points.

After extending their win streak to 13 against Ole Miss, The Auburn Tigers (17-1, 6-0 SEC) came back home to take on the Georgia Bulldogs (5-13, 0-5 SEC) in Auburn Arena. The Tigers would go on to dominate the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, 83-60 thanks to Walker Kessler with 15 points, a double-double from Wendell Green JR and a loyal and loud Auburn Crowd.

The fourth-ranked Auburn Tigers traveled up to Tuscaloosa tonight to take on the 24th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tigers came into this game on an eleven-game winning streak, after knocking off the Florida Gators at home last Saturday night. Alabama came into this game cold after taking a loss to the Missouri Tigers in Colombia.

Coming on the back of a 10-game win streak, the Auburn Tigers (14-1) (3-0 SEC) came back home to Auburn Arena to take on the Florida Gators (9-5) (0-2 SEC). Bruce Pearl was looking for his 150th win as a Auburn Tiger, and he would go on to get it in a 85-73 win. Although it was not a perfect game for the Tigers they were still able to get it done thanks to a raucous Auburn crowd, and a combination of K.D Johnson’s 23 points and Walker Kessler’s eight rebounds.

Auburn (8-4) (SEC 0-1) after a postponed game versus Kentucky traveled to Coleman Coliseum on Sunday January 2, to not only start the new year, but also to start SEC play against the Alabama Crimson Tide (10-3) (SEC 1-1). Although the Tigers did not start the game hot, starting the first half shooting eight for 25, they were able to turn it around in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter, to produce a nail biter that came down to the last minute.

Auburn has played a high-quality non-conference schedule in its first 12 games, with five foes sitting in the top 70 of the NET rankings. Wednesday night, the Tigers welcomed a top-40 squad into Auburn Arena for a showdown with a familiar foe in the Murray State Racers. Three seasons ago, the Racers visited Auburn captained by point guard Ja Morant, who went on to be selected second overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Tigers would win by the skin of their teeth, 93-88.

The Auburn Tigers (9-1) came into Auburn Arena on the back of a five-game win streak with their most recent win coming against The Nebraska Cornhuskers, on Saturday December 11th in neutral Atlanta Georgia, ending 99-68. Meanwhile, the North Alabama Lions (6-4) were also on a five-game win streak with their most recent win coming against Alabama A&M, on Wednesday, December 8, ending 56-45. The Tigers also were without Bruce Pearl tonight leading to his son Steven Pearl taking over the reigns for the night.

The 18th ranked Auburn Tigers took on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Atlanta today taking part in the annual Holiday Hoopsgiving event. The Tigers were without Bruce Pearl today, as the NCAA finally issued punishments for the Chuck Persons scandal in 2017. Coach Pearl served the first game of his two-game suspension today. Wes Flannigan was acting as Auburn’s Head Coach today. Auburn came into this game 7-1, after dominating Yale 86-64 in Auburn Arena last Saturday. The Cornhuskers, coached by Fred Hoilberg, came into this contest with a 5-5 record. Their last outing was certainly one they would like to put behind them, as Michigan beat them 102-67 Tuesday night.

Auburn has been hot so far this season boasting a record of six wins and one loss, and came into this game off a dominant performance against UCF on Wednesday Night. The Tigers defeated the Knights 85-68.

After losing against the Knights a year ago on the road, the Tigers successfully defended their home floor. Auburn used a strong second half to pull away, outscoring the Knights by 14.
