Into the Sandstorm: Auburn Baseball travels to take on #3 South Carolina

After a disappointing loss in the midweek to Troy at home, Auburn is forced to have a quick turnaround in what will be their most challenging series of the season to date. The Tigers travel down to Columbia, SC where they will take on the #3 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. Led by head coach Mark Kingston, the Gamecocks are one of the best teams in baseball. After just sweeping Florida, the Gamecocks come into this series will all the confidence in the world, hoping to find a way to win the SEC regular season crown.

"I like the word 'opportunity' for this series," head coach Butch Thompson said. "We're really at a point where we have to play a certain level of baseball to continue. We have the opportunity to build a resume, and I don't think there should be any more pressure on our ball club. We should absolutely just go play. Those will be the two messages I'm trying to get across to the team for this weekend in Columbia."

A Gamecocks's series sweep could prove costly for the Tigers, as they are currently the first team out on D1baseball’s bracket predictions.

Auburn will take on South Carolina at 6 pm CST on Friday, 3 pm CST on Saturday and 11 am CST on Sunday. Friday and Saturday’s games can be found on SEC Network+, while the series finale can be found on SEC Network.
