The Tigers Set for a SEC doubleheader with Missouri in Auburn Arena

The Tigers Set for a SEC doubleheader with Missouri in Auburn Arena

After a pair of losses to the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend ending in sets of 1-3 and 2-3, the Auburn Tigers (10-6 2-4 SEC) will travel back to Auburn Arena to take on the Missouri Tigers (3-15 0-5 SEC), in a double header this weekend, at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Auburn’s volleyball team is coming back after a hard-fought weekend against Arkansas which included a 3-2 loss on Sunday, where the Tigers were up 2-0 before the 3rd set, even though the tigers lost they still looked strong including Rebekah Rath being able to put up 20 kills against the Razorbacks with Tatum Shipez being the block leader with 9 blocks on the day.

In Missouri things are not currently going to well as they sit at the bottom of the barrel in the SEC with currently no Conference wins and only 3 non-conferences wins coming against North Kentucky, South Dakoda, and North Texas. Missouri most recently lost in Tuscaloosa 3-2, which included Anna Dixon getting 24 kills in the contest, who might be Missouri’s player to watch this weekend.

Auburn hopes to right a wrong as the last time these teams played each other was in 2019 as the season was canceled last year to the Covid-19 pandemic, however Auburn in 2019 lost to Missouri 3 sets to 1.

Auburn will be looking for wins as they currently sit 10th in the SEC with very little time left in the season, the game on Saturday will be broadcasted live at 4:30 pm on WEGL 91.1 FM in conjunction with the Auburn Sports Network.
