Auburn able to sweep the Bruins

The Belmont Bruins traveled to the Plains today to take on the Tigers in the Auburn Arena.  Auburn was able to add another win to their record, moving to 8-1 overall on the season. Couch Brent Crouch now has more wins than the last two season totals combined.

The Tigers swept the Bruins in three sets this afternoon, not allowing the Bruins to score more than 12 through all three sets. Auburn was dominant all the way through, only faltering a bit at the beginning of the second and third sets before recovering and taking off to win it.

The Tigers ended with a positive hitting percentage, ending with a .345%, while the Bruins ended with a -.093%. Auburn had 84 total attempts, 37 kills and 8 errors total, with Belmont tripling the errors of Auburn, ending with 26 total. Belmont had half the kills and also had a little over 20 more total attempts, but only scored a bit over a third of the points with 32 total.

Rebekah Rath had a great game, leading the team in kills and ending top three in two other major statistical categories. Rosenthal and Barrett tied for top of the team in digs, with 19 each, Barrett and Rosenthal also were top two in assists with 24 and 8 respectively. Auburn has started out the season great, only dropping one game so far and will look to add another win next week against Ole Miss.
