Auburn Hockey vs. Middle Tennessee State Preview

Auburn hockey opens at two-game series Friday night against Middle Tennessee State. The Tigers enter the matchup on a three-game winning streak and are coming off a two-game series sweep of Clemson last weekend.

In game one of the Clemson series, Auburn's comeback from a two-goal deficit was led by forward Chandler Brown, who had a hat trick in the Tigers' 5-4 win. In Auburn's second game against Clemson, the Tigers entered the third period down 4-2. However, two third period goals by Auburn, including the game-typing goal by Blake Robison, sent the game to overtime. In the shootout, Sam Edwards' first collegiate goal won the game for Auburn, giving the Tigers the 5-4 win over Clemson.

Middle Tennessee State enters the two-game series against Auburn with a 3-7 record after being swept in a two-game series against Vanderbilt. An MTSU player for Auburn to look out for is Jaxon Rather, who has five points and four goals on the season-- three of them being power play goals.

Auburn looks to keep the momentum going against Middle Tennessee State this weekend. Puck drop on Friday night is set for 8:30 EST/7:30 CST at the Columbus Ice Rink. You can listen to a stream of the game on WEGL 91.1 FM's Twitter page @WEGL_AU.
