They conclude the show by previewing the remaining matchups in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Jared Harper was named the Midwest Regional’s Most Outstanding Player following Auburn’s Elite Eight overtime victory over Kentucky. He scored 26 points while recording five assists, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks. He averaged 17.5 points per game and 6.5 assists per game through the first four games of the NCAA Tournament. When Auburn needed Harper most, he delivered.

Auburn does not have fond memories of their Elite Eight opponent Kentucky as they are 0-2 against them in 2019 including an 80-53 loss in Rupp Arena. Since that loss, Auburn has gone on an 11-game winning streak. The Wildcats are 7-2 since then with both losses coming to Tennessee. They have many strengths and few weaknesses with a great resume.

The Auburn Tigers are headed to the Elite Eight after a 97-80 victory over one seed North Carolina. The game was fast paced as expected going back and forth during the first half, then Auburn pulled away in the second half. What was not expected was where the Auburn offense came from.

The Tigers were able to overcome a 5-0 deficit for a game one victory over Mississippi State. Games two and three proved to be offensive showcases for the Bulldogs though as they took advantage of an Auburn pitching staff missing two starters by scoring 35 total runs.

The Auburn Tigers headed into the 2018-19 campaign with lofty expectations following a regular season SEC title and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003. Auburn lost Mustapha Heron, Desean Murray and Davion Mitchell from that tournament team, but added Austin Wiley, Danjel Purifoy and Samir Doughty. Auburn’s regular season was a roller coaster but ended on a high note.

Auburn ran Alabama out of Auburn Arena by the middle of the second quarter. The tenacious Auburn defense prevented the Alabama offense from getting anything going. It was 38-12 at halftime and did not get better for Alabama as Auburn went on to win 77-38.

After a slow first half from both teams, Auburn fell behind by 13 points early in the fourth quarter. They battled back and forced overtime where they won 59-58 in exciting fashion.
