AUBURN, AL - NOVEMBER 30 - Auburn’s Honesty Scott-Grayson (23) during the game between the Auburn Tigers and the Clemson Tigers at Neville Arena in Auburn, AL on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023.

Auburn looks to restore order to an in state rivalry series

Auburn will make a short road trip north as they visit UAB in Sunday afternoon's clash between two above .500 teams. Tip is at 2:30 in Bartow Arena.

It is still early in the young season but already Auburn’s new look squad is looking good, stacking five wins over two losses as they look to carry on their two game win streak visiting a 6-1 UAB team.

Auburn’s Last meeting visiting UAB ended in a 80-75 loss all the way back in 2019, this history is not as impactful today as the Tigers new look squad has no recollection of such a game at this point and they look to move to 3-0 against in-state teams this year.

After a rout of Clemson earlier this week Auburn turned their interest to Birmingham where the Blazers are 5-0 and look to continue their undefeated home stint as the Tigers visit.

Auburn will look again to Honesty Scott-Grayson who had 18 points in the big win over Clemson. Beyond Scott-Grayson the Tigers will look to Sophomore Sydney Shaw who has had a double-double in 5-7 games so far this season.

Auburn looks to continue their hot streak as they put up a 30 point win on November 30th which was the largest in the first ever SEC/ACC Women’s basketball challenge.

On the other side of the court the Blazers will be no easy task to take down as previously mentioned they are undefeated at home this season and are also looking to move to 3-0 in state this season.

The Blazers average just north of a very good 75 points a year while holding their opponents to just a measly 63 points per game.

The Blazer’s star Mia Moore leads her squad into this intense matchup averaging 19.4 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. Moore has recorded three double-doubles on the season and if Auburn fails to stop her recording her fourth the win will be tough to grab.

Auburn look to restore balance to the series winning 19 straight before the 2019 loss at 2:30 p.m. in Birmingham streaming on SECN+ and the Auburn Sports Network.
