Colton Hood commits to Auburn

Colton Hood, a three-star cornerback, announced his de-commitment from Michigan State yesterday and followed it by announcing his commitment to Auburn earlier today.

"I wanted to go to Auburn since I was a little kid since my pops went there and played football," Hood said. "My uncle played football there, my cousin actually played with Coach Etheridge there.

Hood's father is Bengie Hood. His brother is Ben Hood and his cousin is D'Antoine Hood. His uncle, Roderick Hood played eight seasons in the NFL. All of them played for Auburn. 

The McDonough, Georgia native attends Eagles Landing Christian Academy where he does it all. In addition to playing cornerback, Hood took snaps at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. Additionally, he is a center fielder on the baseball team.

According to 247 Sports, Hood is the No. 606 player in the class of 2023. He is the No. 65 cornerback and the No. 56 player in the state of Georgia.

Hood is the third defensive back commitment the Tigers have picked up this cycle. He joins four-star Terrance Love and three-star JC Hart.
