Auburn Sweeps Alabama A&M in Second Home Match Of 2022

The Auburn Tigers hosted the Alabama A&M Bulldogs tonight at Neville Arena and picked up their fifth win of the season.

Auburn came into this match off of a sweep against the Alabama State Hornets at home in Neville Arena last Wednesday night.

Alabama A&M came into this contest after getting swept in all three of their matches at the Skyhawk Invitational in Martin, TN this weekend. They were defeated by the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks and the Arkansas State Redwolves on Friday, and by the Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks on Saturday.

Auburn took the first set 25-9. 

The Tigers posted nine kills, seven aces, one attack error and two service errors. Alabama A&M had three kills, no aces, five attack errors and one service error. 

Auburn also won the second set 25-14.

The Tigers had 20 kills, two aces, three attack errors and three service errors. The Bulldogs had seven kills, no aces, three attack errors, and no service errors.

Auburn finished off the Bulldogs in the third set 25-13.

The Tigers had 13 kills and two aces, two attack errors and seven service errors. Alabama A&M had four kills, no aces, five attack errors and no two service errors.

Auburn finished up with 85 attacks, 42 kills, eight attack errors, a .400 hit percentage, 37 set assists, 12 service errors, 11 service aces, 41 digs, six blocks, three blocking errors, a 71.1 sideout percentage and a a 65.8 point scoring percentage.

Alabama A&M ended with 79 attacks, 14 kills, 19 attack errors, a -0.063 hit percentage, 13 set assists, three service errors, no service aces, 33 digs, two blocks, no blocking errors, a 34.2 sideout percentage and a 28.9 point scoring percentage.

The player of the game for the Tigers was Bel Zimmerman. She had 11 kills, two errors, 20 attacks, a .450 hit percentage, a .550 kill percentage, one dig, two blocks and 12 total points.

The player of the game for the Bulldogs was Madison Reagins. She ended up with four kills, three errors, 17 attacks, a .059 hit percentage, a .235 kill percentage, six digs, one block and 4.5 total points.

Auburn will be back in action on Friday night as they head up to Birmingham, AL for the UAB Tournament. They will take on the UAB Blazers on Friday night, the Troy Trojans on Saturday afternoon and then the North Florida Ospreys on Sunday afternoon.
