Auburn Soccer welcomes Arkansas in a battle for first-place in the SEC West

The No. 19 Auburn Tigers have won three games in a row and only allowed three goals in their last five games. They are in for a big test tomorrow night, however. The #4 Arkansas Razorbacks are coming to town. The match is set to kick-off at 6:30 p.m. CST at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Both squads have looked great this season. Auburn is 11-3-0 (5-2 SEC), and Arkansas is 12-2-0 (7-0 SEC). All five combined losses from both teams have been to a ranked opponent. Both of those teams know how to play stellar defense. Auburn only has 11 goals against this season, a big part of that being due to outstanding goalie play by Maddie Prohaska. Prohaska leads the SEC in shutouts with seven. Arkansas goalkeeper Hannah Warner has also been very impressive with five shutouts on the year.

Auburn will need to have a big game offensively to keep up with the Razorbacks, more specifically, Parker Goins. Goins has broken multiple school records in her time at Arkansas, including all-time points and assists. The Razorbacks have accomplished awesome things under head coach Colby Hale. They have made seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the last eight seasons; they have won two straight SEC Regular Season championships. Arkansas currently sits at 6th in the NCAA in total points scored. Auburn hasn’t been too bad on offense either. Anna Haddock leads the Tigers in points with 23, which has her at 6th in the SEC. Auburn ranks 25th in the NCAA in points scored.
