Auburn Hosts Clemson for Final Fall Exhibition

Auburn baseball will host Clemson in a 12-inning exhibition on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Plainsman Park. The game will be broadcast on WEGL 91.1 FM and streaming at weglfm.com.

Head coach Butch Thompson enters his seventh season leading the Tigers. Auburn’s 2021 fall roster consists of 25 returners and 24 newcomers.

In Auburn’s opening fall exhibition game, the Tigers defeated Tuskegee. Senior transfer Sonny DiChiara from Samford went 4-for-4 with two walks, a grand slam and seven RBI.

The pitching staff was dominant also, holding Tuskegee to three hits and issuing one walk while striking out 23 in the 12-inning game.

The Clemson Tigers are coming off a 25-27 season including a 16-20 ACC record. Clemson hosted its first fall exhibition against UAB last Saturday.

Clemson beat UAB 20-8 led by junior outfielder and first baseman Chad Fairey who hit two home runs. Fairey redshirted in 2021 recovering from an injury.
