No. 10 Auburn Soccer Hosts No. 1 Florida State for Top 10 Showdown

After extending the longest winning streak in the country to 11 games on Thursday night against Alabama A&M, the No. 10 Auburn Tigers (6-0-0) welcome the top ranked Florida State Seminoles (6-0-0) to The Plains Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Auburn has started the season with six straight wins, including the 5-0 victory over Alabama A&M Thursday night. The scoring was handled by Carly Thatcher with her first career hat trick, and Marissa Arias who added on two of her own.

Florida State is coming off a lopsided victory as well, with a 4-0 win over Florida Gulf Coast University on Thursday night. The Seminoles spread the wealth on the scoreboard, with four different players scoring on the night.

Auburn looks to take down its second ranked opponent of the season on Sunday, after defeating 12th ranked BYU back on August 21. Florida State however is looking to secure its 4th victory over an SEC opponent this season with previous wins against Texas A&M, Alabama, and Florida.

This is the final non-conference game for Auburn before opening up SEC play next week with a home game against Georgia to wrap up a five game homestand.

Auburn is outscoring its opponents 18-4 so far this season, and outshooting its opponents 128-42, with 52 of those being shots on goal. This is a trend the Tigers will need to keep up against the Seminoles if they want to pull out a win against the No. 1 team in the country.

Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT Sunday at the Auburn Soccer Complex and will be broadcasted live on WEGL 91.1 FM in conjunction with the Auburn Sports Network.
