Auburn Sets Program Record After Second Half Charge Against UT-Chattanooga

Auburn soccer set a program record with its tenth consecutive victory dating back to the 2021 spring season with a 3-nil victory over UT-Chattanooga. The win gave the Tigers a 5-0 record to begin the 2021 season.

Sophomore Olivia Candelino led the way with two goals in the second half. She recorded both goals during the 82nd minute.

Former SEC Offensive Player of the Week Anna Haddock got the scoring underway with a direct goal off a corner kick just 30 seconds into the second half of action.

This came following a first half where Auburn took 11 shots and four shots on goal without recording a goal.

The Tigers finished the game with 24 shots and nine shots on goal along with 13 corner chances.

Chattanooga was unable to even record a shot during the game against an impenetrable Auburn defense.

Auburn returns to action on Thursday at 6:30 against Alabama A&M. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on WEGL 91.1 FM.

That will be the third game of a five-game homestand before facing No. 1 Florida State and getting into SEC play against Georgia.
