Auburn and LSU Draw in Auburn's First SEC Matchup of 2021

It was a defensive slugfest between Auburn and LSU for Auburn’s first SEC game of the 2021 spring season. Auburn and LSU drew 0-0 after 110 minutes of soccer.

Auburn goalie Maddie Prohaska and LSU goalie Mollee Swift were the stars of the match with Prohaska making five saves and Swift saving seven shots.

SEC freshman of the week Anna Haddock put up nine shots and four of them were on goal, but she was unable to score on Swift.

Auburn totaled 16 shots on the night with seven on goal. Those shots on top of the three corners taken were not enough for Auburn to find the back of the net.

LSU only had six shots, but five were on goal. It was a more efficient offensive performance for the Tigers from the bayou.

The overtime periods showed a ferocious attack from Auburn as a majority of the extra 20 minutes were spent on LSU’s half of the field.

Even with all of the opportunities, Auburn was unable to breakthrough for a winning goal.

Auburn is 5-4-3 in the 2020-21 season.

Auburn returns to the pitch next Saturday at Clemson for a 1:00 kickoff as it looks to find its offensive firepower again.
