Auburn Volleyball looks to rebound in second match with Florida

Auburn Volleyball will face off against University of Florida again coming off of a home season opener defeat in Auburn arena last night. The girls got off to a slow start losing the first two sets 14-25 and caught some traction in the third set keeping it to 20-25. Outside hitter Val Green led the team with 8 kills and two blocks. On the defensive side, Tatum Shipes led the team in digs with 11.

For Florida, T’Ara Ceasar led the Gators with 11 kills followed by Thayer Hall with nine. The Gators are historically a tall team and it shows with the overall block stats for the match. They doubled Auburn in blocks 11-5. They also had 33 kills to Auburn's 27.

With this being new coach Brent Crouch’s first game at Auburn, some of the first game nerves and rust can be seen on the Tigers' stat sheet. Auburn had more than a set worth of points in errors at 26 and many of the players had negative hitting percentages. Today, the Auburn girls and Coach Crouch will try and learn from their mistakes yesterday in the rematch against the Florida Gators. The match starts tonight at 7:00 Central time in Auburn arena and as always you can catch the call on 91.1 WEGL FM and weglfm.com.
