Auburn has one final tune-up this week against Kent State before beginning SEC play at Texas A&M.  For the Tigers, this isn't just a must win game, but a must dominate game.  Entering tomorrow's 6 p.m. kickoff in Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn is a five touchdown favorite.  After an opening two games that saw Auburn struggle at times to win the line of scrimmage on offense, they get a chance to right the ship.

On paper, Auburn should have no problems doing this.  Kent State squeaked by FCS opponent Kennesaw State last week in overtime and are coming off a two win season in 2018.  While Auburn should be able to dominate this game, it is also important to see the team take steps forward in key areas like punt coverage, fumbling issues, offensive line play, and building depth at the offensive skill positions before traveling to College Station.

The main intrigue of this week's homecoming matchup for Auburn is the homecoming of former quarterback Woody Barrett.  Barrett opened the season as the Golden Flashes starter, but lost his job in week two to Dustin Crum.  This week, Gus Malzahn said his team is preparing for both quarterbacks.  Sean Lewis, Kent Sate's head coach, has not indicated what the quarterback situation will be against the Tigers.  Woody Barrett was at Auburn for one season, in which he redshirted, before transferring to Copiah-Lincoln Community College and then to Kent State.
