Auburn looks to continue winning streak vs Texas A&M on Halloween

Coming off two straight wins at home against Ole Miss and Arkansas, the Auburn Tigers (10-11, 3-8 SEC) return back to Auburn Arena to take on the Texas A&M Aggies on Halloween night.

Auburn looked especially impressive against the Hogs on Sunday, most notably freshmen Tatum Shipes and Mica Allison. Both players were honored by the SEC as co-freshman of the week and setter of the week respectively. Shipes averaged 4.12 kills/set over eight played and reached a career-best 21 against Ole Miss.

Sophomore Anna Stevenson also had a big week as she now ranks third in overall block average (1.30), while her 1.43 mark against SEC-only opponents is second.

Texas A&M comes into this game off a pair of five-set losses last week with the first coming at the hands of Alabama and the second against the nationally-ranked Missouri Tigers Sunday afternoon.

Texas A&M’s best player may be junior outside hitter Hollan Hans who leads leads the team and is third in the SEC with a 4.33 kills/set average. Hans is also among the league’s best in service aces.

Since joining the SEC in 2012, the Aggies are 7-1 against Auburn. The game will be available to listen to live on WEGL 91.1 FM or online at weglfm.com, with coverage starting with the pregame show at 6:45 CT.
