Auburn came up short in another midweek game after an exhausting a weekend series against Arkansas at home. An early offensive explosion and a strong start from Garett looked to set the team in a positive direction, but six scoreless offensive frames and a season-high number of walks leaves the home team saddled with yet another weekday loss.
Despite clinching the series, Auburn falls in series finale to Tennessee 8-1.
Bay and Jacob discuss Auburn's Final Four loss to Virginia and take a trip down memory lane by recapping Auburn's historic season.
I'll be brief, the answer is no.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN— The Auburn Tigers line up tonight and goes toe-to-toe with the Virginia Cavaliers. It is a game that will sure to be a clash of styles. Auburn plays a “space and pace” style that feeds off of chaos and is at its best when it can run and force turnovers. Virginia plays a methodical, disciplined style that suffocates and drains you with its defense while playing extremely patient on offense. This game will be a battle of wills. Who is more committed to who they are and forcing their opponent to play that way? The college basketball world is going to know in just a few hours.
Auburn basketball will be facing off against Virginia Saturday in its Final Four game in program history, but we will look into another Final Four team in Texas Tech, that Auburn could face in a potential championship game, if the Tigers emerge victorious over Virginia.
Auburn is set to play in their first ever Final Four, and this has been due to the magnificent turnaround of the program by Bruce Pearl, who is in his fifth season as head coach. Times are currently better than ever on the Plains, but a few years ago, there was a different feeling towards the basketball program.
