Auburn defeats LSU in series opener

AUBURN, Ala. —  No. 9 Auburn (24-10, 7-6) defeated No. 3 LSU (31-4, 10-3) 8-4 Friday night to open the three-game series with a win. Auburn entered the series having won each of their home SEC series this season, but LSU entered having won nine straight. Auburn broke that streak on Friday. 

Auburn wins Malveaux Mania in walkoff fashion

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn overcame Georgia 11-10 in the series opener in a back-and-forth affair with runs plenty for both sides. With a total of 21 runs the teams combined for seven long balls making the high-scoring affair an entertaining one. After a short rain delay, both teams finished the game from the bottom of the fifth, but the rain did not cool off the bats in this one. 

Auburn hosts LSU in top-10 matchup

AUBURN, Ala. —  No. 9 Auburn (23-10, 6-6) will host No. 3 LSU (31-3, 10-2) in a three-game series this weekend at Plainsman Park. Auburn has won all three home SEC series so far this season, but LSU will present a more significant challenge than possibly any Auburn has faced. The Bayou Bengals are coming off a road sweep against top-10 Oklahoma last weekend and have lost just one series in SEC play. 

Rainey, Tigers handle UAB in game one of doubleheader

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead before the Yellow Jackets came back to take the lead. Auburn responded, however, to retake the lead in the eighth inning and secure the victory.
