Seven-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter John Mayer made his second trip to Atlanta in 2023 on his solo tour. The tour is the first time Mayer’s done a tour without a band. Mayer had previously performed at State Farm Arena in March with Joy Oladokun opening for him. After a successful spring tour, Mayer decided to come back to ATL in the fall, this time with singer-songwriter JP Saxe opening.

On their first trip to our nearby Atlanta, Geese delivered another one of the iconic live shows to an audience of around 200. Having gained some serious mainstream traction with their latest and most acclaimed LP, 3D Country, this could be one of the last shows the band plays in a small venue for quite some time. After the 3D Country Tour, the band will go on to play over a dozen shows opening for Greta Van Fleet, one of the biggest bands in the world at the moment, on their 2024 tour. With this opportunity in the spotlight, the band is sure to catapult into a more serious and well deserved higher realm of popularity, so I felt quite fortunate to see them at such an intimate location.

Auburn (0-1) kicked off their season against a consensus top 20 squad, the Baylor Bears (1-0), falling 88-82 to the Bears. The Tigers were the only SEC team to kick its season off against a top-25 team and they put on a classic show in a classic arena as the teams clashed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the famous Heritage Court.

Hotel Fiction has been rocking the south since their formation in January 2019. Founding members Jade Long and Jessica Thompson formed the band while attending the University of Georgia. They released their first single, “Astronaut Kids,” in August 2019. “Astronaut Kids” is currently Hotel Fiction’s most streamed song, and it currently sits at over two-million streams.
