It’s still weird to think that Auburn is sitting atop the SEC in basketball.
A brand new podcast from WEGL Sports Director Evan Blank features interviews with people he finds interesting and wants to hear from in long-form conversation you can't get from a ten minute radio segment.
After what turned out to be one of the most exciting games for Auburn Football in a couple of years, most, if not all, fans immediately turned their attention from Georgia to Alabama. Yet, the Tigers have a game to close out the non-conference slate this Saturday against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks. It’s an eeeeearly kick at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 11 AM, so it won’t be as rowdy as usual, especially considering the student section will likely be decimated due to this little thing called Thanksgiving Break. SO before all that gets underway, here are a couple of big things to watch before Auburn takes on Alabama ULM.

Auburn, AL- As one might expect, quarterback talk dominates all preseason football discussions and 2017 was no different for the Auburn Tigers. Jarrett Stidham was all the rage from the second he announced his transfer to the Plains from Junior College back in December. Heralded as a messiah for the Tigers football program, Stidham came out on Saturday night to the roaring adulation of 87,451 who put those unfair expectations on him and looked….fine.
Auburn, Ala.- In a season that has largely been about getting run support for their excellent pitching staff, the Auburn Softball team got the bats going in a big way this weekend at the Auburn Regional in the NCAA Tournament. Amassing a combined 23 runs and 40 hits over three games, compared to the 5 runs and 13 hits for opponents East Tennessee State and California, senior third baseman Kasey Cooper said it best, commenting “That’s a statement” after the regional title was secured. The Tigers advanced to their third consecutive Super Regional (to be hosted this weekend at Jane B. Moore Field) after welcoming ETSU to their first ever tournament appearance with an 11-0 hospital job Friday afternoon, followed by a nerve wracking game on Saturday against the Golden Bears.
