5 acts you can’t miss at Imagine Music Festival’s Amazonia Stage

1. GRiZ

Grant Kwiecinski, better known as GRiZ, is one of the funkiest electronic acts in recent years. His live saxophone riffs paired with his groovy beats create mesmerizing songs both in the studio and live. He grew up near Detroit, Michigan before he briefly attended Michigan State University where he played shows at campus parties and local venues. His first debut album released in 2011, and Kwiecinski has steadily released albums since. His personal mantra, “Show Love, Spread Love,” is evident in the message of his songs. GRiZ is a must-see act on the Amazonia Stage if you want to see a headliner that will have you groovin’ all night.

2. Zhu

Steven Zhu is an American electronic musician who originally began his career as an anonymous act. In 2014, he chose to reveal his identity to take the world by storm. Zhu is a Grammy-nominated musician, and his mystifying single “Faded” peaked on charts across the world. He is well-known for his innovative remixes from the likes of Migos, Portugal. The Man and more. His most recent EP, Ringos Desert Pt. 1, features minimalist beats and slight house notes throughout the release. Zhu is sure to take his Amazonia audience on an adventure.

3. Cashmere Cat

Magnus August Høiberg, aka Cashmere Cat, is a Norwegian DJ, producer and musician. His production skills have gained recognition at the Electronic Music Awards and at Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammys). He opened up for Ariana Grande during The Honeymoon Tour, and he has produced and collaborated with her in the past. He also has worked with The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Tory Lanez, Camila Cabello and Kehlani. If you’re looking for a set to vibe out to, Cashmere Cat is a must-see.

4. Yheti b2b Toadface

The unique brothers Yheti and Toadface will be the highlight of your weekend if you’re looking to get down to some creative sounds and mixes. The two collaborated on a recent Wakaan release, entitled Brain Mirror. Both names are well-revered in the bass music community, and this duo’s b2b sets are a treat to see.

5. Shpongle (Simon Posford DJ Set)

Shpongle is guaranteed to be one of the most psychedelic sets of the weekend. While Shpongle is normally a two-person group, Imagine will have the treat of experiencing a Simon Posford DJ set. Posford’s cosmic collection of music incorporates a variety of instruments and sounds, and his psychedelic sets are respected worldwide for this reason. Simon Posford and Raja Ram began their ambient music-making after they experienced a solar eclipse together in India in the late 90s. If you’re looking for the perfect way to get lost in some psychedelic trance, this set is one you can’t miss.
